Austin entrepreneur shares stories of success and innovation

Have passion, develop process — Steve Pearson

Passion and process are two keys to the challenges that confront new business owners, Austin entrepreneur Steve Pearson explained recently.

The founder of The Pearson Strategy Group was interviewed about his journey creating a business that helps others by Leaders Inspire Leaders podcast host Koy McDermott.

“I love helping people and playing with technology,” Pearson said. “I fostered that love into helping others accelerate innovation.

“Many inventors and entrepreneurs want to make money and of course they should. I feed off the energy of other people and I have resources and partners who can help.”

Pearson, whose team also helps companies monetize intellectual property, explained how effective listening is a crucial component guiding his company. In his case, hearing repeatedly from clients and patent attorneys who were unsure how to make money from newly minted patents told him a story of opportunity.

That story led Pearson to create a partnership with an expert in guiding patent holders through licensing and commercialization.

“Now we have developed a methodical process to offer. So far the interest has been incredible. Just blowing us out of the water,” he said. And all as a result of effective listening.
