Steve Pearson founded Pearson Strategy Group, specializing in intellectual property management, technology identification, and market assessment. He takes pride in drawing on lessons from his broad background to help those in the electrical, mechanical, energy, construction, or transportation industries. He enjoys working with startups and inventors to help them save time and money.
Before starting The Pearson Strategy Group, Steve was an Analyst at Nerac and a process control engineer covering the machining and electropolishing of stainless steel fittings and tubing at Advanced Stainless Technologies in Austin. He has also worked as an equipment and process control engineer at Motorola’s semiconductor manufacturing group in Austin.
Earlier, Steve served aboard a U.S. Navy submarine as both an electronics technician and a nuclear reactor operator and was a trainer at the Naval Reactors Facility at the Idaho National Laboratory.
Steve also founded the intellectual property licensing company Visionex Holdings, LLC, and is the sole inventor of three U.S. patents: US7857004, US8646474, and US9372036, related to air conditioning condensate.
A popular speaker in Austin and around Texas, he covers topics such as Competitive Intelligence, Patents, Patent Searches, and Intellectual Property. He also writes a blog on topics ranging from trends to due diligence to risk analysis.
Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is a board member of the IEEE’s Austin PI-2 Chapter and an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Steve values nurturing the vibrant startup community in Austin, and he mentors inventors and entrepreneurs for MassChallenge.
Steve is happily married to his wife, DeAnne, a well-known career coach, and she has a business called Deliberate Careers.
