Summer Rings in Our 8th Anniversary
Happy Birthday, USA!
I am excited every year to celebrate our nation’s birth and proud to imagine a few fireworks saluting the anniversary of my company, the Pearson Strategy Group.
PSG is eight years old this month, and we’ve learned a lot about starting a one-of-a-kind business and helping potential clients understand how we can save them time and money.
Recently, I’ve been experimenting with packaging PSG services – with great success. For example, I created a table comparing our patent research services in three simple tiers to help people understand the costs and the results to expect at each level.
New clients seem to appreciate a flat rate, and I’ve had several point to the tier that best suits their needs and budget before we spend a lot of time talking.
If you’ve been wondering about patent research and whether competitive patent information could help your business, let me know, and I will send you descriptions and rates.

Keeping Up with Steve: National Press
The March issue of Forbes spotlights Austin food and tech industries working together. No surprise, they single out the revamped Food & Tech Austin meetup, which Steve helps organize along with Robert Nathan Allen, Entoprenuer & Ento-Educator, and new co-organizers: Tim Felz and Daniel Gunn from Ungrocery.
A testament to the vital relationship between food and technology is the “Food & Tech Austin” meetup, founded in 2014, which now has nearly 900 members.

The group is planning another session exploring the future of food innovation soon. Join the Food & Tech Austin Meetup to be notified.
From the recent Food & Tech Meetup, left to right: Moderator Robert Nathan Allen and panelists Dr. Mark Sanders, director – Circular Economy, Austin Technology Incubator; Dr. Stan McClellan, professor at Texas State University and author of “Smart Cities: Applications, Technologies, Standards, and Driving Factors;” Dr. Robyn Metcalfe, director, Food+City and research fellow at The University of Texas at Austin; and co-organizer Steve Pearson.
Local Recognition
Steve was named a featured influencer at the North Austin Influencers’ April Mixer. He spoke to the group about some of the ups and downs of his journey as an entrepreneur.
Participants seemed to enjoy Steve’s idea that a comeback of Garanimals would simplify his fashion efforts. His point was especially ironic as Steve’s friend, Sam Alexander, a long-time executive in the fashion industry, was present.
Closing Thoughts
Check out my son, the high school graduate! He’ll be off to college soon, studying Computer Science and living in a dorm for the first time.
High school has been a learning experience for the whole family, and Chris kept us on our toes. His toes, by the way, were part of his final statement of high school rebellion.
As you can see, he sported sandals and striped socks instead of more traditional footwear for graduation. Like the creative employee who deviates from a manager’s expectations, he’s got more important things on his mind!
I can’t wait to see where this young man goes with his education. He’ll still be in Texas, so we will get to see him occasionally.
We’re packing up for the big move to the dorm soon.
Have a great summer, and keep in touch!
